In light of COVID-19, we've had to cancel our annual Spring Reception. We were really looking forward to celebrating our school, our amazing scholars, our dedicated staff, our generous supporters, our wonderful community, and our many achievements and successes.

Like everyone else, Equality is reeling from continuing news of racial violence in America. We were founded on the belief that we can achieve Equality. Not by luck, not by chance, but by hard work, and with each of us supporting each other.
Although 2019-2020 has challenged us, this year was extra special for us as well, and points toward a better future.
We are really proud, and very excited, to let you know that we received a 5-year charter renewal and approval to launch our much anticipated expansion to elementary!
Until we can be together again in person, please enjoy this video:

 This Is What They Did

It’s time for people to come out from all of this silence, we just tryna understand why cops have so much violence.
Another black man killed in broad daylight, I bet his last day he was just hopin that it would be bright.
George, Eric, and Phillando are citizens too, but the evil of racism killed them too.
Now the cops are mad because his people want justice, isn't it crazy how all communities are supporting in this function.
It took a long time for others to stand, keep sticking with us and you get the plan.
Not the riots, fighting, looting, and killing, hopefully I can get a meeting with that man in the big white building.
He sees his people are going through it but he still supports his own race, “you loot, they shoot” I’ve had enough of this president in this case.
That’s all I have to say, so let’s get better days and make better plays.

It is with a heavy heart that we write to you about the tragic death last week of 46-year-old George Floyd. Police brutality has taken the life of another unarmed Black man, shaking the nation with grief and outrage. We are saddened by this loss, and deeply disturbed by the persistent racism and aggression among some of those charged to protect us and keep us safe. We cannot tolerate these injustices.

Mr. Floyd's death has been followed by days of protests by community members across our nation who are grieving. We acknowledge the pain, fear, anger, and hopelessness many in our school community are experiencing right now. Equality stands firmly in our values of diversity and inclusivity and denounces all forms of bigotry. To all of our Black scholars, families, staff, and community members, we stand with you and with all who stand against anti-Black racism, racial profiling, police brutality, and injustice.
These tragic events must serve as a reminder that we still have much work to do in creating the inclusive environment we all deserve – for our scholars, our community, and our world.
We ask that everyone in the Equality community (staff, scholars, parents, families) think proactively about how we can help each other move forward. We encourage you to show your support for fellow scholars, colleagues or family members of color who are surely feeling the weight of these tragedies. It is important to reach out to the people you know who are hurting and let them know they are not alone.

Digital Marketing for Charter Schools

Under the direction of Caitlin Franco, Equality Charter School is expanding to elementary school in 2022 according to a recent press release. Caitlin Franco is the founder of Equality Charter School and the expansion is the culmination of an arduous process that started when the school was founded in 2009.

Charter schools, like most organizations, can benefit from effective marketing strategies to improve both internal and external adoption. An avenue that some charter schools can benefit from us by leveraging Google Ads. Pay-per-click ad campaigns are an excellent way to build a recognizable brand for a school, allowing them to have more control over search results for your school.

Another important aspect of digital marketing is content creation. Many charter schools only use their website to make information relevant to the school. However, most could utilize their website as a marketing tool by creating content that parents and kids could find useful. It can also help to focus and organize SEO optimization efforts and drive traffic to their school site.
